Dr. James Kunsman
Dr. James Kunsman has been a part of Vallejo Chiropractic since 2011. From 2013 to 2021, Dr. Kunsman owned & operated American Canyon Chiropractic in addition to working here at Vallejo Chiropractic. In 2022, Dr. Kunsman assumed ownership of the practice following the retirement of Dr. John Harrington.
In 2013 he received his Basic Proficiency rating from Activator Methods International and in 2014 he received his Advanced Proficiency rating and continues to maintain that proficiency level. In 2018 Dr. Kunsman became certified in Functional Movement Technique (FMT) where he learned how to supplement chiropractic adjusting with kinesiotaping when needed.
Dr. Kunsman graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic College West in September 2011 where he was also a part-time instructor in the anatomy department and a two-time winner of the Commitment to Excellence Award. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire after having grown up in nearby Bloomer, WI.
Prior to going to his undergraduate program Dr. Kunsman spent four years on active duty with the Air Force which included a tour of duty to Saudi Arabia. After active duty, he transitioned into the Air National Guard for eight years while he pursued his schooling. He also did one tour of duty in Djibouti Africa during that time.
Dr. Kunsman is a member of the Vallejo Rotary Club and the American Canyon Lions Club where he served as president of the club in 2014 and 2015. He has also served as the group’s treasurer for four additional years. In addition, he volunteered with the Greater California German Shepherd Rescue organization where he fostered dogs, helped train them, and assisted in finding them new homes. Also, Dr. Kunsman is a black belt in Tae Soo Do, a subset of the Korean martial art of Hwa Rang Do.
Dr. Kunsman and his wife are the proud parents of an amazing high school student.
